Sustainable Employment

Muncie doesn’t have a “jobs problem,” we have a workforce problem.

There are many quality jobs available in our community – full-time skilled-labor jobs with insurance and benefits – which remain unfilled. Many of these jobs don’t require a college education, or even any prior experience or training, and yet employers struggle to acquire and retain reliable employees. Meanwhile, many of our citizens regularly complain that they are unable to find sustainable employment.

As a city government, we need to develop a way to help connect people who are earnestly looking for a good job with employers who looking for reliable employees. If elected, one thing I will do is work with the city administration to develop a free online resource that does exactly that.

I also promise to do whatever I can to help employers grow and expand their employment opportunities and move Muncie forward.
